    Will there also be a youth poetry slam this coming Monday on Sept. 22nd?

    Hi Paul, yes there will. Sorry that the events section of this part of the website has not been updated recently.

The Vancouver Poetry Slam
Canada’s Longest Running Poetry Slam Continues!

@ Cafe deux Soleils: 2096 Commercial Drive (Commercial & 4th Ave.)

The 1st, 3rd, and 5th Monday of every month is the Van Slam, a regular poetry slam open to everyone (read more about the rules)
The 2nd Monday of every month is the Alt Slam, a themed poetry night
The 4th Monday of every month is the Youth Slam, for competitors between the ages of 13-22 (but for audiences of all ages!)

August 25th is the Youth Slam, featuring RadaR from the Vancouver Poetry Slam Team.

Player 1; Name: RadaR, Purpose: Interplanetary discovery!, Gender: Female, Age: 22, Interests: Poetry, music, Dance, Activism, Community, Hometown: Edmonton, Victoria, Stats: Height:5′2″, Weight: 110(ish), Eyes:Brown, Hair: Brown, Charisma: 8 (-8 awkward modifier, roll to be made at every turn), Strength:7 (+1 anger modifier), Dexterity: 6 (+2 yoga modifier), Intelligence: 9 ( +/-3 drug modifier), Wisdom: 7 (+1 live and learn modifier), Constitution: 8 (+5 hot sauce modifier), Class: Abolish the class system…, Weapons Class: I’ll Beat Box your ass! And possibly hug you into a coma….




There is also an Open Slam with Cash and Prizes
Doors and Sign Up at 7pm
Open Mic starts at 8pm and Slam after that
Still only $5 at the door, $3 for youth 18 and under
All poets, all ages, & all styles are welcome in the spirit of fair play and good times!
