Place: Cafe Deux Soleils (2096 Commercial Drive)
It’s time again to celebrate, eviscerate and poke with a jello feather the spirits of the season. There will be music, burlesque, nonsense, stand up comedy, storytelling, poetry, clowning and more. There will also be a short open mic to kick off the night.
Some of the performers include Brenda Brink, The Minimalist Jug Band, Gerald-Gerald-Gerald-Geraldson-Horror Comic, Bling Crosby, Ivan Penaluna, Martin Van Steinburg, The Svelte Ms. Spelt performing How the Grinch Stole Christmas and more.
Plus your emcee for the night will be Santa Klaus Meine from the Scorpions. This night will rock and you will laugh at least once. We’ll have candy canes and coloured tights.
And we’ll be raising money for Covenant House. They’re a group in Vancouver that work with street kids and help them out.
We’re asking $5 at the door but if you can spare more that would be sweet.
Black and Red Billy has been added to the show line up.
Presumably not the real Klaus Meine?
Any chance that the Gathering Place Ed Centre’s Covie students could get in for free? Also maybe just any other creative writing student who has been or is homeless?
Also, one or two might like to read if there is an open mike.
Just to be even more demanding—can you let me know ASAP cuz I’m in on Fridays but not on MOndays (altho if need be I can make arrangements by phone, but will have considerably less time to let students know.)
O.K. that’s all for now, sorry I didn’t find the website to get in touch sooner.
