Poet’s Contract & A/V Release
There’s one slam left before the roster of the top 16 scoring poets in the 2007-08 is set. You can see an update of the current standings, which accounts for poets who have opted out, on the Van Slam MySpace site.
Our Slammaster, R.C. Weslowski, has distributed the Poet’s Contract to all the poets. Most poets have responded. The deadline for signing the Poet’s Contract and handing it to R.C. is the Last Chance Slam held on March 31st. This contract is mandatory for all poets competing in the play-offs. If you don’t hand it over to R.C, he’ll find another poet to take your place. You can email RC through weslowhiskey@direct.ca
The audio-video release form is necessary so that we can put together a CD of the 2008 Van Slam play-off performances. This CD will be a fantastic archive of the poetry brilliance that has blessed the Van Slam stage. I wish we had one of these for the past ten years! The CDs will also contribute to the fund raising for Van Slam and VPH. Poets are expected to sign the audio-video release form, but it is not mandatory to take part in the play-off competition. We’ll be collecting these before the play-offs begin. You can talk to Faust or RadaR or Jim with any questions you might have.
