Uh actually RC, I think Tristan would now be officially at 1 as Grandmother's Basement would be the first in the series again.

No?

Tristan might be.  All I was saying is that once you repeat you start over from scratch/zero.

Yes I know, I was merely trying to soften the blow you gave as you lashed out with your flaming hot tongue of officialdom. We're gonna have to rename you the Gastapo poet.  :)

But here's a real thought. It would be tough to keep this 100 poems no repeats going if one were on the Vanslam team, no? I have never been on the team but aren't their group pieces and the like where you may end up repeating? Are you still in the running having been on the team all year?

Curious in Chilliwack.

Clint, you are correct.  Potentially being on the team and repeatedly performing as the team mighit get in the way of the 100 poem challenge.  BUT I think only if you are the author of the poem.

If you are performing in a team piece that you didn't write and it is done more than once in a season, I think it would only count against the author of the poem.  If you are co-authors then it might force you to start over in the poem count.

Well, I threw down tonight and the judges didn't get it. It happens. I wish the four finalists all the best, my favorite right now is Daniel Mark Patterson because when he found out he was in finals he looked like a 6 year old who has just been told that he can keep the puppy.

But the great news is, re the 100 poem challenge, I now have only 95 to go!

1) Jumbo Train
2) Rudy
3) Full of Myself
4) Any Port in a Storm
5) Apocalypto

Thanks all, it was a fantastic night.

I made it to 21 with Junkyard Robots but I am now down to 0 after performing Floyd Jones.

I loved Junkyard Robots by the way, never heard that one before, and that is the cool thing about this challenge, you always hear new stuff.

Floyd Jones was an out of the park slam dunk touch down slap shot that bulged the twine. You did what you had to do.

Good job!

Okay thanks to the Instant Slam tonight, I have both, a new poem and another addition to my list for the 100 poems no repeats challenge.

Now here's where I'm at.

1) Jumbo Train
2) Rudy
3) Full of Myself
4) Any Port in a Storm
5) Apocalypto
6) A Workout and More

The last one was written in about a half an hour inspired by the unveiled prompt of the same name, "A Workout and More" was well received by all.

Thanks Instant Slam!

Started up again.

1. Southern Kiss
2. I Love Shy Men
3. Bukowski
4. More than you Bargained for (from last night's insta poetry challenge).

96 to go!

I can see that the Erotic Slam will probably bring me back down to zero though.

Isn't there also a city wide challenge?  The first city reaching a combined number of 100 poems taking the win??  There should be!
