No Truth In It

There's no truth in it
the guise of its lies beguile the wise

flittering glitter
sham of a shimmer

no truth in it
youth the prize stole from sore eyes

all round
ground down

flood of blood
leaves a hole in the soul

no truth in it
darkness draws near

will becomes nil
boldness now fear

time
a crime, sold for a dime

failure of nerve
spark without verve

paralysis
becomes fatality

philosophy
becomes futility.

Engage
your rage

the storm
is the norm

define
or decline

repent
or relent

conform
or deform

dictate your terms
or let despair churn worms.

Ahhhhhh.
intriguing.
The title-there's no truth in it...
and yet it lays out the inexorable march of time and struggle.
it points at truth even while speaking of a unnamed thing in which there is no truth....
very interesting piece mssr shaker.
I must ruminate on this one awhile.
once again-I am loving the new jimmy shaker poem a day ritual.many thanks.
"this is the law of the jungle-as old and as true as the sky.
every wolf that keeps it shall prosper-every wolf that does not must die
like the creeper the girdles the tree trunk, the law circles forward and back
the strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of the wolf is the pack"
