For the first time in about 7 or 8 years New Music West is co hosting a Spoken Word showcase as part of their event.
This will be more concentrated than the 3 day extravaganza Salmon Avalanche and Ms. Spelt worked on.
This time around it's a one night whiz bang where local spoken word types will be hitting the stage to rouse the masses with their words. Some of them will be presenting their work in new ways, ie: insturmentation, multi media, beats, etc.
Performers include the entire 2008 Vancouver Poetry Slam Team: Scruffmouth, Radar, Zaccheus Jackson, Faust McKenzie and Al Mader. Also performing are Sean McGarragle, Julie Parrell, CJ Leon, RC Weslowski, The Svelte Ms. Spelt and a special east coast guest, Ardath Whynacht from Halifax.
The show starts just after 8pm. Doors around 7pm. It's only $10 to get in and have a good time.
