I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who made Finals Night at the Van Slam such a wonderful experience for me.

Sean and Lisa for doing all the slammaster dirty work, Angus for bout managing, Kaelyn for rocking the sound and Sue for organizing an army of exceptional volunteers who continue to help make things run so smoothly.

And thanks to all the poets who competed on Finals night and throughout the year.  You make it a joy and a treat to be a part of the Vancouver Poetry Slam community.

Congrats on taking the belt Randy. And of course congrats to Nora, Chris and the new kid who I hope to see more of. But to Randy I must say, you sir are truly a deserving individual to receive this highly touted and oft-sought-by-millions honourable trophy. Wear it with pride, wear it in the shower, wear it to work! With the utmost respect to everyone else who competed I was always pulling for you. Now I just have to fit "RC Weslowski" onto a small leather tag so the belt can be properly adorned with the moniker of its latest recipient. Thanks for doing what you do RC. You always make me want to write poetry... I think that's a good thing.

PS. Your designer android just shat all over Mrs. Westercheckenberger's new foam record player, so don't forget to put the turkey carcass out for the curtain rods this St. Hubbins Day.
