This will be the last chance for youth poets to qualify for the Youth Slam Playoffs in March. Priority will be given to those who have not guaranteed themselves a playoff spot

We are also incredibly luck to have as our feature, from Bellingham, POET, Robert Lashley...on...e of the most intense performers I have seen. I feel like he's going to explode on stage every time I watch him. Here's his bio

Robert Lashley has been called by several people "The Sweetest Scary-Ass-Brother" you will ever know. A semi finalist for the PEN/Rosenthal fellowship, he often performs at Northwest spoken word venues and has helped Bellingham, where he lives, develop one of the nation's finest poetry slam scenes. He has had poems published in such Journals as Feminete, No Regrets, and Your Hands, Your Mouth. His poetry was also featured in "Many Trails To The Summit", an anthology of Northwest form and Lyric poetry. His full length book, Songs My City Taught Me, was published by Radical Lunchbox Press in 2009.

Doors and sign up at 7pm. Show starts at 8 o'clock.
The Youth Slam is the most fun you can have at a poetry slam.

We have a poetry open mic and a poetry slam. Poetry slams have rules.
No props, no costumes, no pre recorded music or musical instruments allowed in the competition. There is a 3 minute time rule. No plagiarism.

If you are slamming please come with at least 2 poems ready to perform. You do not have to memorize your poems. One poem per poet on the open mic. 3 minute max as well.

$3 for 18 and under $6 for 19 and older.
