On January 10th 2011, the Vancouver Poetry Slam will be having its qualifying slam to decide who gets to represent Vancouver and Canada at the Women of the World poetry slam in Columbus Ohio in March of this year. Oh and we have one of the top ranked performance poets in all of North America featuring, Chicago's Laura Yes Yes."Laura Yes Yes was a finalist at this year's Women of the World poetry slam, and she's competed and perf...ormed at events everywhere. She enjoys strawberry ice cream, and her laugh is the stuff of legend. Her first book, "How to Seduce a White Boy in 10 Easy Steps", was just published by Write Bloody Press."This event will include an open mic but the slam will be closed and will include the top 8 ranked women from our community for this season to date. Each will be presenting a 4 minute poem, a 2 minute poem and a 1 minute poem.
