For the 4th qualifying slam of the summer season, we have as our feature, the Vancouver Poetry Slam team circa 2010!!!!

Van Slam 2010 Team Members:
Johnny MacRae, Sasha Langford, Lucia Misch, RC Weslowski, Chris Masson (alt)

A second-year member of the Vancouver Slam team, and one half of the spoken word duo 2 Dope Boys and a Cadillac, and 2010 Vancouver Poetry Slam Grand Slam Champion, Johnny MacRae has been described as a scraggly bear riding a circus bike. There's not much more to say than that.

Sasha Langford was picked as one of five poets to represent Vancouver in the 2008 CBC Poetry Face Off, served as a Canadian representative at the Women of the World Poetry Slam in Detroit in 2009, and will be performing this fall at the Vancouver International Writer’s Festival.

Lucia Misch grew up at an astronomical observatory in California's Bay Area. She is a two-time South Bay Youth Slam Champion, has performed with three San Jose youth teams and featured at slams and festivals around the western US. Defecting to Canada was among the best choices of her life.

RC “Pops” Weslowski is an x-ray visionist in search of the secrets buried inside flowerpots. Vanquisher of the white out sea turtle RC comes to you a flutter and full of silly string theory.

Chris Masson thinks often and believes strongly. His one man show, Pathos, Punchlines & Painkillers is generally attended and mostly enjoyed. His next show will expose the impending apocalypse. He recently transplanted from the cathedrals and snowbanks of Montreal to the yoga studios and credit unions of Vancouver and is re-rooting.

Where: Café Deux Soleils (2096 Commercial Drive)

Doors and Sign Up starts at 8:00PM
The Open Mic starts at 8:45PM
and the Slam starts at 9:00PM

The Cover Charge: $5-10 sliding scale

Prepare to be amazed!!!!
